First Blog --- Planning and Preparation

Well obviously I'm getting excited and ahead of myself a little but wanted to try out this thing a bit before we go... then with luck i won't be too hopeless when we get out there!
Ben and I both starting to seriously discuss where we're planning on going for the first couple of months, who and what we'll visit along the way, leaving much room for detours, errors and explorations. We decided long ago that we'd stop at Fraser island first and we thought we'd be there for Ben's birthday but instead he's going to take one last stint over easter at work before we start packing up to leave... which gives us more time to find the right vehicle for the journey. So we'll probably still be kicking around Beechmont and Canungra for Anzac day :)
On our list of places to be and people to visit we have a certain rum factory in Bundaberg, Ellen, Sam and Tegan in Quilpie, Steph and Andy in Blackall, Winton, Longreach, Canarvon Gorge, Airlie Beach, Townsville (and all the friends residing there) Cooktown and a few other places on the way to the top of the cape....... and that's just what we've worked out for Qld--- not to mention the comedy of errors that's usually my navigation (left, no myother left... oh god just go that way...) but when we actually start our travelling we'll have a better idea of timing and dates and what not for when and where we'll be.
We have a romantic idea of trying to get as far as Broome going accross the top, and with all hope we will!!!
For now this is the start of our blog and not quite the start of our adventure but all will be well and I'm sure i will be posting again before we head off.
